2013 Week 32 Saturday:
Beer stein deposit |
Saturday morning we got a tour guide around Munich where we saw a lot of the historic places. We also saw a Hofbräuhaus, which is a place where people goes to get some beer. All the regular guests got their own table and had the possibility of making a costum sign where they could write anything they wanted. Some of the regulars had a private beer stein locked in the Bräuhaus, but there were no more room available, so new costumers could not get a place for their steins.

The outside of BMW World |
Afterwards we drove to BMW World which is where new BMW’s are displayed and when you buy a new BMW car you can collect it here and get a VIP treatment as well. All the cars were beautiful. The building it self had solar panels on the entire roof and it was facinating to see how the building was made with large open rooms and window panels which would take up the entire wall area on some sides of the building.
Right next to BMW world there was a tall tower, called the Olympic Tower, where you could go up and look out on the city. We went there and looked around. You could see incredibly far and the temperature was nice compared to the extreme heat at ground level.

The festival |
To end the day we drove to a festival at Tegernsee where there was a live band and a lot of beer (naturally). The germans have a tradition of eating a lot for breakfast, normal for lunch, and then not eating very much for dinner, so the dinner we got here was simple bread, cheese and some sausage and not a lot of it. I’m used to eating most at dinner, so it did not take a lot of beer to get pretty drunk. We all went nuts when the food arrived because we were starving after a long day of walking in the sun and stuff.
The amount of people at the festival was crazy. We had trouble getting a place to sit, but we did find one eventually. The queue to get beer and “food” was so crazy that we took turns standing in it.
Unfortunately it got pretty cold pretty fast, so some of us got a lift home by out bus driver before the rest of the group.
